The Group`s aim is to teach SAFETY AROUND DOGS and RESPONSIBLE DOG OWNERSHIP by showing through role play how to behave around dogs - both known and unknown - only our own temperament tested and assessed dogs would accompany us , at least one of the Presentation Team would be police checked and there is a Child Safety Policy in place
INTRODUCTION
Initially we meet with the relevant leaders/headteacher/etc to introduce ourselves and our dogs, describing the very varied work our teams are involved in and have initial discussions to establish the time available for the presentation and following sessions, age groups involved, etc
WORKING WITH THE YOUNGSTERS
We would then work with small groups of youngsters with our registered dogs using visual aids and role play to show you should behave around dogs and why.............
