GOING FORWARD WITH   CARING CANINES...............

After much research our "Be Dogwise" programme incorporating Charlie`s Storybook, Safety Around Dogs and Responsible Dog Ownership is now up and running and our Presentation team are visiting local schools, youth clubs etc...............

We have also drawn up a programme for working with the Dog Phobic and have have worked, through referral , with a local youngster and his family, a project

which has proved very successful

As time goes on and more evidence is located a presentation for local hospitals will be possible - the three main hospitals in our area are very resistant to visits by Therapy Dogs although several of our Cottage Hospitals have Volunteer Visitors and the largest teaching Hospital in Middlesex has had, and may still have, 4 registered Therapy Dogs (via a National Charity) working there on a regular basis.

Recruitment of new Volunteer members is ongoing as is locating venues where our members and their dogs will be made welcome. The Poster Campaign, Press Coverage , word of mouth and our ever growing profile also continues to contribute to our growing success

CARING CANINES are involved in several projects (incl STREETWISE)

which not only benefit the Community but also give our group`s Volunteers different types of work to enjoy and develop...........................

please do let us know of your own individual project or activity that you think our very special CARING CANINES could play a part in by emailing

or calling

giving brief details of your scheme and how you think we may participate.........
